See who Jesus is more clearly as His identity, authority, and mission come into focus.
Luke shows Jesus as resolute. He knows the direction of His mission and deliberately turns toward Jerusalem as the decisive stage approaches.

Watch the companion video, then continue reading to examine the biblical testimony in its full context.
Resolve Without Retaliation.
When the Samaritan village rejects Him, Jesus does not authorize the destructive zeal of James and John. His determination is not vindictiveness.
Authority to Call.
Along the journey, Jesus speaks with extraordinary authority about following Him. He does not present Himself as one optional teacher among many competing priorities.
A Mission Larger Than Comfort.
Jesus has nowhere to lay His head, yet He continues. The path before Him is not organized around personal ease, popularity, or avoiding rejection.
The Savior Who Keeps Going.
This passage reveals both direction and purpose. Jesus moves toward the place where His suffering and saving work will reach their climax, and He calls followers to take that mission seriously rather than admire it from a safe distance.
Consider this.
